Compound (1) was isolated, by chance, and fully characterized in a previous study aimed to the preparation of 4-p-toluensulphonyl- 10-benzyl-1,7-dioxa- 4,10-diazacyclododecane (Scheme 1). (Ref. 1)
In fact, under the conditions reported above (1) was obtained in only 5% yield after column chromatography and crystallization.
