The simplest way I know to deal with URL streams in JavaScript is to =
create a simple Java applet to do a few things, insert it on a page and =
call its methods from JavaScript. You still run into security issues =
that prevent you from accessing domains outside the source of the page, =
but its a start.

I'm working on a way to fool it into taking info directly from a URL. =
It's
a kludge, but it should work. I'll post it as soon as it is stable.
