Sorry, my mistake -- it's Omnimark, not Jade, that tells you whether
an attribute was specified. With groves, I think that you'd need the
basesds1 module to get that information.

That said, the information _is_ available in SP itself, using

Boolean Attribute::specified()

in SP's native interface (see include/Attribute.h).
